All About Powdered Botanical Face Masks: Benefits, How to Use, + More! (Scroll Down for How-To Videos)

The mysterious face mask in powdered form has been making a gradual debut into the mainstream of skincare, so much so that I may even go so far as to deem 2019 "The Year of the Powdered Face Mask."

In all seriousness, if you've not introduced a face mask into your skincare regimen yet, I highly recommend it as a way to boost your skin wellness. As we've all heard by now, our skin is our largest organ, and it also happens to be the one that is most visible. I completely understand that we are all busy, and that phrase - "skincare regimen" can elicit images of 86 bottles and jars of miscellaneous god-knows-what strewn about your bathroom vanity, countless dollars thrown at the drug store and beauty counters (do people still go to those) for product you don't use, and surely multiple hours spent daily to maintain said "regimen."

Trust me, I know what it's like; I have these resources right at my fingertips and I still think, "Who has 8 minutes for a face mask!?" I make skincare for a living and I am a pretty basic, low-maintenance person.

That said, I understand the importance of taking care of our skin - especially from the inside out. Face masks are one of the best things (and lowest maintenance, I swear!) you can do for your skincare. The best part is, you only have to spend 10-15 minutes per week doing a mask. No need to apply daily (in some cases, this could have adverse effects, anyhow) or to travel with 43 varieties of masks. To further bring you into my love of a good mask, here are just a few of the benefits that face masks can offer:

  • Hydrate + moisturize
  • Reduce redness + discoloration
  • Smooth bumpiness
  • Clear skin
  • Minimize the appearance of fine lines
  • Tone + tighten
  • Reduce the appearance of pores
  • Brighten skin

To help you navigate the elusive world of the powdered mask, I've put together a quick set of videos that share the benefits of each of our 3 masks (Charcoal + Clay, Matcha Lavender, and Flowers + Rose Clay), and how to make them + put them on.

If you have a few minutes, join me on Good Flower Farm as I share these behind-the-scenes tips and tricks!
